Paul Pogba lifts lid on Bruno Fernandes partnership at Manchester United

Paul Pogba believes he compliments Bruno Fernandes in the Manchester United team and heaped praise on his teammate.

United fans were eagerly anticipating Fernandes and Pogba linking up on the pitch after the Portuguese sealed his switch to Old Trafford one year ago. It took longer than expected as the season was halted due to the coronavirus pandemic but the pair finally played together following the June restart.

Despite experiencing a rough start to the season, Pogba is back to his best and has flourished alongside Fernandes. The World Cup winner netted a superb winner against Fulham which saw United climb six points above reigning champions Liverpool.

Pogba believes having two creative players has helped United and heaped praise on his teammate's impact at the club.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer speaks ahead of Sheffield United

"Since Bruno arrived, he brought his energy, passing, shooting, scoring goals, creativity," he told Rio Ferdinand for BT Sport.

"I can create but I'm deeper. He's in front to create as well. So it's good to have two players who can create any time - one is more defensive, one is more offensive. I think it suits both of us. He's been doing very well.

"I wouldn't say there is less pressure on me. It's about being complete as a team, you have me who can create from deeper and him who can create closer to goal.

"It's not about pressure because people will always speak and if they speak that means you're doing well otherwise they wouldn't speak. You take it as a positive challenge."

Pogba continues to be the centre of attention with his contract set to expire next summer amid speculation linking him with Juventus and Real Madrid.

The 27-year-old sent a defiant message to his critics claiming he thrives off the pressure and proving people wrong.

He added: "I need to have this pressure always. Always playing against big players and big teams. This is my engine. You need to have that. Good or bad, I know if I play well or if I don't play well. For me, people speak good and I will always keeping working. People speak bad, I will be working even more.

"You can't miss it [the media]. It's not that I'm waiting for what people are going to say. You hear this and you hear that. People have their own opinion and that's how it is. I cannot change that.

"It's good that people have their own opinion. I always have the same mindset.

"I work and I will never change. I will always be working hard, always want to be best, always want to win and the next challenge making those people change their mind.

"I will always keep working to be better and better."
