Paul Pogba leads Man Utd stars in public training session ahead of Premier League return

Several Manchester United stars have put themselves through their paces in a public workout at a local park.

Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial, Victor Lindelof and Andreas Pereira were all present as they prepared for the return of football.

The Premier League continues with their Project Restart plans, although they have several hurdles that still need to be negotiated.

The government have come out and said that no professional sport will take place until June 1 at the earliest.

Project Restart was aiming for a June 12 return which falls in line with the latest guidelines.

United are very much in the hunt for a Champions League spot and were in a good run of form prior to the season's postponement.

Their win over Manchester City on March 8 means they are just three points off Chelsea in fourth.

They could also earn themselves a spot in next season's Champions League via the Europa League like they did in 2017.

A 5-0 win over Austrian minnows LASK in the Round of 16 was their last game before the season was halted by the coronavirus pandemic.

Their recent upturn in form has coincided with the arrival of Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon.

The January signing is a class act but has also been hailed for his influence off the pitch as he looks to drive standards and improve his team-mates.

It has seen many question whether Paul Pogba is needed at Old Trafford given the baggage that accompanies him.

He and his agent Mino Raiola have been accused of trying to manufacture a move away from Old Trafford.

But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who has regularly defended Pogba, is excited about the prospect of Fernandes pairing up with the club's record signing.

"Good players can always play together, so definitely they can... it's a big yes," he told Sky Sports.

Pogba has spent much of the season on the sidelines and was last seen in United's 4-1 win over Newcastle in December.
