Paul Pogba is trying to force transfer away from Man Utd, claims former Red Devils star

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Mark Bosnich has urged the club to sell Paul Pogba in January as speculation continues to surround the midfielder's future.

Pogba played just six games for United this season before suffering an ankle injury, and he has not appeared since the end of September.

There have been some claims that the 26-year-old is exaggerating his injury in order to preserve himself for a potential new club in January, and speaking to talkSPORT Bosnich said he felt United should cut their losses and move the player on as soon as possible.

"It doesn't sound good," he said. "It sounds exactly like he's trying to force a move. If that's the case, Manchester United should make their minds up immediately.

"Regardless of the player you are on a world standing, you can ill afford to be spending four or five months on the bench. But if that is the case, there's no use other than to turn around and say, 'OK, we're going to get the best price for you'.

"And I wouldn't be selling him for any less than he's worth."

Pogba recently responded to claims he was faking the extent of his injury by uploading footage of his ankle in strapping to his social media.

Later, another clip emerged of the Frenchman having his troublesome ankle worked on by a masseuse, suggesting he is doing all he can to get back out on the pitch as soon as possible.

Pogba was strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid over the summer after he admitted he would be interested in seeking 'a new challenge.'

He joined United for then-world record transfer fee of £89.3m from Juventus in 2016 and has had a mixed time at the club since then, often putting in world-class performances but occasionally attracting criticism for a perceived lack of effort on the pitch.
