Paul Pogba is 'happy' at Manchester United despite Real Madrid links, insists Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Paul Pogba is happy at Manchester United and will be a big part of the club’s future, according to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Speculation has recently linked Pogba with a move away from Old Trafford following his comments on playing for Real Madrid.

While on international duty with France, the 26-year-old flirted with the possibility of moving to Bernabeu one day, describing turning out for Madrid as a “dream”.

Pogba also suggested that he would like to link up with former France midfielder Zinedine Zidane, now head coach of Madrid.

Solskjaer, however, is confident that Pogba is happy at United and believes he was merely offering polite answers to journalists’ questions.

“I don’t like to talk about other teams players of course but this is another challenge with international breaks,” he said.

“Players are available all the time as well and it’s a different environment, a general talk. Paul is a very nice and polite man, who then answered a general question.

“Zidane is an icon in France, a fantastic manager, he used to be a fantastic player and he’s just politely answered that question.

“Paul’s happy here, he’s gonna be a big big part you like to build your team round him and that hasn’t changed at all.”

Zidane himself spoke about Pogba publicly this weekend, describing him as a player that he likes “a lot”.

“I know him personally. He’s a different kind of player, he brings so much and there are few players who bring as much as he does,” the Madrid head coach said.

“He’s a midfielder who knows how to defend and how to attack. He knows how to do everything on the pitch.”
