Paul Pogba is a surprise inclusion in Manchester United’s travelling squad for Sunday’s clash with Watford.

The midfielder joined rest of United’s players as they boarded a flight on Saturday afternoon, despite Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insisting he would take no risks on the Frenchman’s long-term fitness.

Pogba has been out since September with an ankle and foot injury.

Asked about his availability on Friday, Solskjaer said he would not rush the £89m club record signing’s return.

“He’s training, but he’s not been training with us for long,” said the Norwegian. “He’s training and that’s a step forward for us.

“He needs time to get fit of course but he’ll make a difference for us.

“Let’s see how he feels. I’m not going push him, of course. What he feels, his ankle, we need him to be 100 percent fit. I can’t risk any setbacks on the injury.”

United usually travel by train for games in and around London, but chose to fly for the Premier League game against Watford.

It meant they could avoid the usual photographers waiting to catch them at Stockport station – but they were still filmed boarding their flight at Manchester Airport’s private terminal.

It is not clear if Pogba will be fit enough to play any part in the game, but if Solskjaer was attempting to keep his inclusion a secret, it didn’t work out.
