Paul Pogba hits Real Madrid with staggering £13million per year wage demand

Manchester United star Paul Pogba is locked in talks with Real Madrid after Zinedine Zidane made the midfielder one of his key targets.

But French outlet L'Equipe is reporting that the Frenchman's wage demands are making concluding a deal difficult.

It's said Pogba is asking for £13million-a-year to join the Bernabeu giants.

And Real Madrid are said to be unwilling to meet his sky-high demands.

It's been reported that Real have made a world record bid to sign Pogba's international team-mate Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain and they are also believed to be close to securing the signature of Eden Hazard, with reports in France on Monday morning saying a deal is done.

Pogba is seen by Zidane as the third piece of the puzzle but the temperamental midfielder's wage demands are said to be putting the Spanish capital club off.

A Bernabeu source said: "A Neymar or an Mbappe might be able to become the highest paid player at the club upon arrival, but not a Pogba."

The fact Pogba is represented by agent Mino Raiola – who does not get on well with a number of Real Madrid representatives - is also hampering negotiations.

It's not the first time Pogba has been accused of being greedy. Sir Alex Ferguson let him leave Manchester United previously because he was demanding a first team player's level of wages despite having not yet broken through.
