Paul Pogba, the Manchester United midfielder, is a doubt for Sunday’s Manchester derby after picking up a minor injury and missing first-team training.
Pogba trained indoors on Friday away from the main group after suffering ‘a little injury’ and may now miss the trip to Manchester City.
The 25-year-old will train again on Saturday morning before a decision is made on his involvement by Jose Mourinho and United’s medical staff.
Romelu Lukaku will also face a late fitness test having missed United’s last two outings with a hamstring injury.
The Belgian returned to first-team training on Friday having completed his recovery from the issue but his involvement at City on Sunday hinges on another training session.
Mourinho, the United manager, claimed United had no serious injuries following Wednesday’s 2-1 win at Juventus but suggested some players were carrying minor problems.
“From Juventus, we don’t bring important injuries,” he said. “We have ‘touches’ but I don’t think any player that was available for Juventus will be out.”
“We have a chance that Lukaku could be back. He is training with the team this morning. If this answer is positive and we have, of course, one more session tomorrow, he’s ready.”
