Paul Pogba gives Manchester United injury update

Paul Pogba has posted a video of himself on his Instagram page as he steps up his recovery from an ankle injury.

The midfielder missed the Europa League trip to AZ Alkmaar after aggravating an ankle injury which he initially picked up in the 1-1 draw against Southampton at the end of August.

The France international returned for games against Rochdale and Arsenal but the club confirmed after specialist advice he would miss the game in Holland.

"Following a specialist’s opinion, Paul Pogba requires a period of further rest and conservative treatment for the foot injury he sustained during the game against Southampton in August," a club statement read.

And while his teammates suffered a 1-0 defeat away to Newcastle in the league on Sunday Pogba was in Dubai working on his fitness in a hope to get back for the game against Liverpool next weekend.

Pogba posted a video on his social media channels of him on a bike with the caption: "They say hard work pay off, what about hard work in the heat? Let's see."

Solskjaer was asked about Pogba's fitness ahead of the game against Alkmaar.

"There's an international break as well, so it might be time for us to give him 10 or 14 days extra to be ready for the Liverpool game.”
