Paul Pogba explains why Manchester United goal vs Fulham surprised him

Paul Pogba admitted he didn't expect to score such a 'beautiful' goal with his weaker foot after his winner against Fulham on Wednesday night.

Manchester United came from behind to win 2-1 at Craven Cottage as goals from Edinson Cavani and Pogba secured the three points.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side had to dig deep for the victory - with their winning goal coming via a moment of magic from the French midfielder.

Pogba collected the ball on the right hand side of the box before cutting in on his weaker left foot and drilling an effort into the corner of the goal.

It was a sweet strike worthy of winning any match but it was one that left Pogba feeling surprised.

"I hit the ball well," Pogba told BT Sport. "I didn't expect it with the left foot like this but if you don't try, then you don't score.

"It was a beautiful goal and beautiful win. It wasn't my favourite goal ever but it was still beautiful."

Fulham had chances to win the game themselves during the gritty encounter, but Pogba thinks the close nature of the encounter makes the three points even sweeter.

The Frenchman added: "It's a big win because it was a hard game. We knew it would be difficult. They press really well and stay compact. We had to come back and we needed this win and we got it."
