Paul Pogba 'emerges as Juventus transfer target' as Man Utd face fight to keep star

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is being heavily linked with a summer exit.

Real Madrid have been reported to be considering a swoop as part of a huge spending spree under Zinedine Zidane.

But Italian newspaper Tuttosport now believe Juventus have made bring back the French World Cup winner one of their two primary objectives.

The Turin-based club were left reeling by a shock Champions League defeat to Ajax last week and are now set to splash the cash to increase their competitiveness in the elite European club competition.

Tuttosport's back page story on Tuesday says they have made Pogba and Fiorentina winger Federico Chiesa their top two summer targets.

Benfica talent Joao Felix, wanted by Manchester United and Liverpool amongst others, is also on Juve's wish list, with Matthijs De Ligt amongst a list of potential defensive reinforcements after scoring a crucial goal to dump them out of the Champions League.

Pogba made a major impression during his four years at Juventus, playing well over 100 games and being held in high regard at the club even after his departure.

He left in a record £90million move to Old Trafford in 2016 but has endured an inconsistent spell since returning to Manchester.

He fuelled rumours of leaving Manchester by referring to Real Madrid as a "dream" during an interview during the recent international break.

United have come under fire for their recent form under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with Pogba criticised for his poor performances.

Juventus are said to be concerned they could miss out to Madrid if he does decide to leave the Premier League, but his wage demands might put a potential switch to La Liga in jeopardy.

He was heavily linked with a return to Serie A before the January transfer window, but the sacking of Jose Mourinho gave him a new lease of life and saw him stay at the club.
