Paul Pogba edges closer to Juventus return after Mino Raiola Italy ban is lifted

Juventus' hopes of re-signing Paul Pogba have taken a major boost.

The Italian champions are keen on taking the Manchester United midfielder back to Turin, although they do face competition from Real Madrid .

United are looking for around £105m for the France World Cup winner, who is keen to leave the club this summer.

Juventus chief Fabio Paratici reportedly travelled to London his week for talks with United over a deal for Pogba.

There was a stumbling block over the deal though with Pogba's agent Mino Raiola banned from completing any football activity in Italy.

Raiola was initially banned by the Italian Football Federation before FIFA decided to extend the suspension worldwide.

The super-agent took his appeal to the CAS and it was announced on Wednesday that the ban had been suspended until the start of July at least.

But he was still banned from completing transfers in Italy, which would have stopped Pogba from joining Juventus.

Raiola appealed to the Federal Court of Appeal over that separate suspension and it has now been lifted, reports Sky Sports.

Raiola is also the agent of Matthijs de Ligt, who is on the radar of a host of top European clubs, including Manchester United and Juventus.

Barcelona had been leading the chase for some time but have failed to reach an agreement with Ajax over the transfer.

That has alerted the likes of United and Juventus, although Raiola was pictured in Paris this week amid reports PSG had launched a staggering offer for De Ligt.

The Dutchman led Ajax to the Champions League semi-finals last term and also impressed in the recent Nations League.
