Paul Pogba could return to Manchester United squad in two weeks, says Ralf Rangnick

Paul Pogba could soon be set for a return to the Manchester United first-team.

Speaking ahead of Monday’s trip to Newcastle United, Ralf Rangnick has confirmed the Frenchman will need a further two weeks before approaching anything approaching match fitness, having recently worked on recovering from his thigh injury in Dubai.

“Right now, it’s about him getting fit again, getting training fit, not to say match fit,” he said to the club’s official website.

“I think this will take, as far as I know, another couple of weeks and until then my full focus is on the players who are available and with whom I can play the next upcoming games.”

Pogba has been out of action since picking up the injury while training with his national team back in November and has not played since the German replaced Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in charge of the club earlier this month.

Out of contract in the summer, Rangnick has previously revealed talks have been held as to the 28-year-old’s future, though there is currently no news regarding a potential contract extension.
