Paul Pogba baffled by Manchester United vs AS Roma penalty decision

Paul Pogba insists he was 'unlucky' to concede a penalty during Manchester United's 6-2 win vs AS Roma on Thursday night.

The French midfielder provided Roma with an unlikely route back into the Europa League semi final first-leg when he handled from Rick Karsdorp's cross into the box.

Pogba had already committed to a sliding challenge when the ball hit his trailing arm, which was raised above his head.

Although the French international could do little to move his arm out of the way, the letter of the law states it should have been a penalty because his arm was in such an unnatural position.

The decision prolonged a worrying recent penalty record against Pogba, with the Frenchman having conceded four of the last six spot-kicks which United have faced at Old Trafford. In fact, the 28-year-old has been at fault for three of the last four they've conceded at any venue.

However, Pogba feels he was hard done by in midweek and joked he needs to learn how to tackle to ensure the run stops soon.

"Just don't tackle," he told BT Sport when asked what else he could have done to prevent the penalty. "I don't know how to tackle.

"I try to be the English guy. I need to practise more. I need to practise to tackle without arms. It's unlucky. I've been unlucky a lot this season with penalties."
