Paul Pogba back to Juventus? Maurizio Sarri coy over interest in Man Utd star

Maurizio Sarri has confirmed he is a fan of Paul Pogba, but admits he is in dark regarding whether Juventus will make a move to re-sign the midfielder from Manchester United.

Pogba's agent recently told The Times that the 26-year-old intends to leave the Premier League club, while the player said in Tokyo last month he could seek a "new challenge" elsewhere amid reports linking him to Juventus and Real Madrid.

Standard Sport understands that United are demanding close to the world-record £198miliion fee PSG paid Barcelona for Neymar from Pogba's suitors - a figure which complicates any potential move this summer.

Sarri saw Pogba up close last season as Chelsea boss, and the new Juve head coach was coy over the Bianconeri's interest in re-signing the player they sold to United for a then-world-record £89m three summers ago.

"I like very much the player but I don't know the situation. I am not the technical director," Sarri told reporters in Singapore ahead of Juventus' International Champions Cup match against Tottenham on Sunday.

United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said this week he wants to build his team around Pogba, describing the World Cup winner as a "fantastic human being" and "great professional".
