Paul Pogba and Ousmane Dembele join Antoine Griezmann gaming marathon for Red Cross coronavirus appeal

Barcelona star Antoine Griezmann has raised almost €30,000 for the Red Cross after enlisting the help of French teammates Paul Pogba and Ousmane Dembele for a gaming marathon.

The former Atletico Madrid man and his brother played a range of computer games non-stop for 24 hours, with fans donating cash to help the Red Cross’ coronavirus appeal.

The feat was streamed live on Twitch, with Griezmann joined by several famous faces, including the World Cup winning duo, to help him through the monster stint.

Manchester United midfielder Pogba logged on to join in a game on Call of Duty: Warzone, while Barca teammate Dembele fired up lockdown favourite Football Manager.

Griezmann’s love of the latter game in particular is well-known. Last year, he tweeted his Arsenal squad on the game, humouring fans on social media by revealing he had sold good friend Alexandre Lacazette to Huddersfield Town.

Football in almost all European nations remains in lockdown because of the coronavirus outbreak, while France will have to wait until 2021 to try and add the European Championships to their World Cup win after the tournament was postponed by a year.
