Paul Pogba and Mason Greenwood to start — Manchester United predicted line up vs Sheffield United

There's a good chance Manchester United will recall Paul Pogba and Mason Greenwood to their starting line up against Sheffield United after the two players' encouraging cameos against Tottenham.

Pogba, 27, hasn't started a game for United since September 30th, having been plagued by ankle issues for most of the 2019/20 season. He made a return in December with two substitute appearances against Newcastle and Watford, before it was revealed he needed surgery.

The rescheduled Premier League season, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, has given Pogba the chance to come back into the United side and he featured from the bench in Friday night's 1-1 draw with Spurs. Pogba won the penalty from which Bruno Fernandes equalised for United and impressed in his 30 minutes on the pitch.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer spoke about the need for balance in his side after the Spurs game, but is likely to drop either Fred or Scott McTominay to accommodate Pogba from the start. It would mean Pogba and Fernandes starting together for the first time.

Greenwood for Daniel James was the other substitution Solskjaer made on the hour mark at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. And that could be the only other change to United's line-up with Greenwood making a good impact off the right flank.

Victor Lindelof has been training and is fully fit to play after going off with a minor ankle problem late on against Spurs. Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe remain doubtful with injuries, but Solskjaer spoke confidently about the state of his squad going into the home game against the Blades.

“Yeah. We don’t have any other injury issues,” the Norwegian said.“I think they all managed to get through the [Tottenham] game. They were tired towards the end, some of them, but we’ve got another 90 minutes under our belt and we’re ready to go again.”

United loanee Dean Henderson will be ineligible for Sheffield United against his parent club, while the Blades have centre-back John Egan suspended after he was sent off in their 3-0 defeat to Newcastle.

Predicted United XI (4-2-3-1): De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw; McTominay, Pogba; Greenwood, Fernandes, Rashford; Martial.
