Paul Pogba and Jadon Sancho 'finally on the same team' as Man Utd ace sends teasing message

The future of Borussia Dortmund and England starlet Jadon Sancho is likely to be a much discussed topic once the summer transfer window arrives.

Throughout last summer's window the winger was heavily linked with a return to England after attracting interest from both Chelsea and Manchester United. Whilst Chelsea were always linked with him and keeping tabs on his progress, they never expressed as much a desire to sign him as United did.

The Red Devils were determined to try and get a deal over the line for the skilful attacker but were unable to meet Dortmund's valuation, meaning he has remained with the Bundesliga giants and continued to make progress.

Thomas Tuchel explains why Tammy Abraham was left out of squad

This season, Sancho, who will be looking to help England lay their hands on the European Championships title this summer, has scored 11 times and registered 16 assists in all competitions, providing proof that he is adding more and more strings to his bow.

With Dortmund facing the prospect of severe financial trouble this summer if they fail to qualify for next season's UEFA Champions League, it has already been well documented that they may be forced into offloading a series of their big-name stars, including Erling Haaland, who is at the very top of Blues head coach Thomas Tuchel's wish list, and Sancho.

Should Dortmund be in a position where they are going to have to sell some of their star assets, Chelsea and United are likely to be in the running to pick up the pieces.

But even though the Blues, who travel to Anfield to face Liverpool on Thursday evening, are still being linked with Sancho in several gossip columns, it is highly unlikely that they would launch a move for the England ace because they now operate with a 3-4-2-1 system, which is a formation Sancho is unlikely to slot into.

With that said, it clears the path, potentially, for United to try and get a deal done this year, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer still keen to add a new right-winger to his ranks.

And it appears as though United midfielder Paul Pogba may have dropped a subtle hint that his manager is keen to bring Sancho to Old Trafford. The duo have participated in a Pepsi advert together and Pogba has since shared the clip on his Instagram page.

As well as posting the video, the France international said: "Finally on the same team @Sanchooo10 - the @PepsiGlobal team. Search #PepsiChallenge on TikTok and duet with us. #ad."

With Pogba also posting a winking face emoji within the post, following the first sentence, it raises questions about whether or not the midfielder has some inside knowledge about whether or not United are going to make a second attempt to try and lure Sancho back to England this summer.

Solskjaer has been desperate to bolster the right side of his midfield, with Sancho having been primed at the very top of his wish list for more than a year.

According to the latest transfer data provided by the CIES Football Observatory, Sancho is valued at €148.3million.

But as outlined above, if Dortmund miss out on Champions League football next season, they could lower their asking price in a bid to get him off their books and gather the funds they would most probably crave, with the pandemic having hit them, like so many other clubs, hard.
