Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes send messages after Manchester United draw vs Southampton

Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes both issued defiant messages after Manchester United drew 2-2 with Southampton on Monday night.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side missed the chance to move up to third in the Premier League table after conceding a 96th-minute equaliser from Michael Obafemi.

Goals from Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial had flipped the game on its head and the three points seemed destined to go to United before Obafemi pounced in the dying seconds.

However, despite the setback, United's Champions League hopes remain in their own hands, with a trip to Leicester City on the final day of the season amongst their remaining three league matches.

That was the clear message from Nemanja Matic post-match, who warned Manchester United's rivals they were still in control when speaking to MUTV.

Now, Fernandes and Pogba have both issued similar statements to their teammate, airing their frustration at the dropped points against Southampton but insisting their focus is on ensuring Champions League qualification in the final three matches of the season.

Both writing on their Instagram accounts, Pogba said: "The victory has escaped, but we’ll remain united and focused for the next 3 games."

Fernandes also put: "Not the result we wanted, but we're going to continue the hard work and focus already on the next game! #MUFC."
