Nothing could separate France and Portugal as the World Cup holders drew 0-0 with the European and Nations League champions on Sunday.
In a repeat of the 2016 Euros final at Stade de France, Manchester United teammates Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes featured prominently in either side's midfield in the Nations League clash.
Pogba played the full match while Fernandes lasted for 80 minutes before being replaced by Renato Sanches.
Chelsea duo N'golo Kante and Olivier Giroud also started the match for France, while United striker Anthony Martial came off the bench in the even contest.
The teams had virtually equal possession and both registered 10 shots with three on target, while Manchester City duo Ruben Dias and Bernardo Silva started for the visitors.
Wolves midfielder Joao Moutinho and Liverpool forward Diogo Jota came off the bench to try and break down Les Bleus, but Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris stood firm for the hosts.
The result leaves France and Portugal both on seven points in UEFA Nations League Group A3, with the latter top on goal difference.
Trailing the pair are Croatia, who picked up their first victory of the Nations League campaign with a 2-1 win over Sweden, who are yet to get points on the board.
Meanwhile, Scotland went top of Group B2 thanks to Lyndon Dykes' second-half strike to give the hosts a 1-0 win over Slovakia at Hampden Park.
Elsewhere, Northern Ireland remain rooted to the bottom of Group B1 after their 1-0 defeat to Austria, while Wales were unable to capitalise on a late red card to James McClean in a 0-0 draw with Ireland.

The Dragons remain top of Group B4 - edging out Finland by one point - and are yet to concede a goal in the Nations League this season.
Poland and Italy also played out a 0-0 draw, while England secured a win over FIFA's No.1 ranked team, Belgium, to go top of Group A2.
