Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez 'at heart of fresh dressing room rift' at Man Utd

Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez are at the heart of a fresh money rift tearing apart Manchester United's dressing room, it has been claimed.

The issue centres around the vast goal and assists bonuses in each player’s contract.

Sanchez, who is the Premier League’s highest-paid player despite flopping since moving to Old Trafford 17 months ago, gets a huge £75,000 per goal and £25,000 for every assist.

But it’s claimed Pogba isn’t far behind in terms of add-ons, landing £50,000 each goal and £20,000 per assist.

Goal bonuses are common place across clubs.

However, the suggestion is that those incentives are so far in excess of anything that teammates stand to land by producing on the field, that it has become a huge cause of consternation for boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and a major issue in the squad.

A source told the Sun: “The real problem is the incentive plan.

“It has caused a lot of animosity and is as responsible for the lack of the recent failure of team spirit as anything else.”

Sanchez has again failed to fire this term, and the Chilean, 30, will go down as one of United's all-time worst signings.

He will miss Sunday’s finale against Cardiff City due to injury and could leave this summer - if United can find a buyer.

Pogba is set to start in what could be a youthful Manchester United side, after four teenagers were included in Solskjaer's 20-man squad that pitched up at the Lowry Hotel on Saturday night.

However, his long-term future remains in serious question, amid continued interest from Real Madrid and his desire to play Champions League football next season.
