Paul Pierce says LeBron James is not a top-five player ever

As we’ve written here before, the NBA’s TV pundit class have made it their mission to spout the most absurd takes possible in light of “The Last Dance” documentary and the continued lack of live basketball due to the coronavirus pandemic. Paul Pierce couldn’t be left out of the fray, issuing a statement that most fans today would dispute, that LeBron James is not even one of the five best players of All-Time.

Pierce was a guest on ESPN and named is top-five, not including LeBron James in his collection of the best ever. Pierce and his Celtics, of course, were one of the chief reasons that LeBron joined the Miami Heat, with whom he won two championships, something Pierce clearly holds against LeBron.

Having gone against LeBron and beaten him before, Pierce has a right to an opinion, even though he’s completely wrong on this one. But, Pierce has a different job to do these days and this is just a part of that.
