Paul Pierce has changed the story again on the infamous and gross wheelchair game incident

What is the truth from The Truth?

For many years since the 2008 NBA Finals, we all thought Paul Pierce had suffered a terrible injury in Game 1, had to be taken off in a wheelchair and then came back on to the court for Game 1 to help the Boston Celtics beat the Los Angeles Lakers.

But then in 2019, Pierce admitted on the air while with ESPN that he had an, er, accident that required him to get into a wheelchair — nope, he wasn’t injured! — and leave the court to get it taken care of (which you can see below, check it out).

Got all that? Because on Friday, while speaking to his former colleague Michelle Beadle on an Athletic podcast, he said something different! Check out starting at the 23:30 mark or so:

Pierce said this:

Um, yeah I guess that makes sense. But then Beadle asked the right question: Wouldn’t you be protected in the wheelchair from everyone seeing that? Nope! He denied it!

So: He was joking in 2019?? I guess so.
