The new Rolling Stones video for “Scarlet” starring Normal People‘s Paul Mescal has been released.

The previously unheard song, which was recorded in 1974 and features Led Zeppelin‘s Jimmy Page on guitar, was released last month.

The visuals were created in a “socially distanced shoot” at Claridge’s in London, and show Mescal running riot around hotel rooms and deserted bars.

Mescal, who recently received an Emmy nomination for his performance in Normal People, shared the video on his social media, tweeting a link and commenting: “Mum this is all a bit mad.”

“My recollection is we walked in at the end of a Zeppelin session,” Keith Richards said of the song, in a statement earlier this year.

“They were just leaving, and we were booked in next and I believe that Jimmy decided to stay. We weren’t actually cutting it as a track; it was basically for a demo, a demonstration, you know, just to get the feel of it, but it came out well, with a lineup like that, you know, we better use it.‘”

“Scarlet” is one of three previously unreleased songs that will appear on the upcoming deluxe edition of Goats Head Soup, scheduled for release on 4 September.
