Paul Mescal dons Connell's chain as he poses with Dakota Johnson at party for new flick

Normal People actor Paul Mescal was seen getting close to Fifty Shades star Dakota Johnson at an afterparty in New York.

The Kildare actor, 25, was at the New York Film Festival premiere of their Netflix movie The Lost Daughter.

The pair seemed delighted to reunite as they wrapped their arms around each other and posed for pictures.

Dakota, 31, stunned as she walked the red carpet in leather trousers, a Gucci corset-inspired bodysuit and a blazer.

Meanwhile, Mescal, from Maynooth, ditched the O’Neill’s shorts and rocked a buttoned-down blue stripy shirt, brown blazer and, of course, the beloved “Connell’s chain”.

The Lost Daughter is a psychological drama written and directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal, and based on the novel of the same name by Elena Ferrante.

The film stars Olivia Colman and is about a woman who’s summer holiday takes a dark turn as her past comes back to haunt her.

The film is set to drop on Netflix on January 7.

This comes after Paul had sent Normal People fans into a frenzy when he reunited with Daisy Edgar-Jones in The Big Apple.

Fans speculated that they were shooting a second season of the beloved Sally Rooney show as Paul’s character left for New York in the final episode of the first season.

Although both Paul and Daisy admitted that they would absolutely love a second season of the show, it appears unlikely that it will happen.
