Arsenal legend Paul Merson has sent a warning to Harry Kane over a possible transfer this summer.
Kane fuelled transfer speculation recently when he said his priority at this stage of his career is winning 'team trophies', something that he hasn't been able to do so far at Tottenham.
But it's not all about winning, Arsenal legend Merson has warned, telling Kane 'it's about family' having moved a number of times during his own career, and paying the price for it.
"What I read into that is that he wants to go," Merson said of the Kane quotes. "It is a come and get me, I thought so.
"It's very rare that the best three centre-forwards in the world in [Erling] Haaland, [Harry] Kane and [Robert] Lewandowski could all be up for sale this summer when there is not a lot of money around from what has happened.
"Tottenham is a big club, a very good club with one of the best stadiums in the world.
"It will be his decision. He has to consider his wife, his mum, his dad, his family, everyone thinks you go 'I'll go sign for them and win the league.
"You have to consider everything and it's a hard decision he has to make. I wouldn't want that decision."
He added: "I did well and I was lucky that I did well but that came with divorce and not seeing the kids, seeing them on certain days, and if I went back again, I know how hard it is.
"I went to Middlesbrough and shouldn't have gone. It was selfish and it's about family."
In any case, Kane doesn't think Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will allow his star striker to leave.
"I think he will still be at Tottenham," he said. "I don't think Levy will let him go. I think you will have to pay top, top dollar and I don't think that money is around at this age."
