Liverpool will not emulate Arsenal by going a whole Premier League season without suffering a single defeat.
That's the view of Gunners legend Paul Merson.
The Reds have made a blistering start to the new campaign as they aim to be crowned champions of England for the first time in almost three decades.
They've won eight games in a row - which in total is 18 stretching back to last season - and are hot favourites to take away Manchester City's crown.
This weekend proved to be a great one for Jurgen Klopp's side as the reigning champions were beaten at home by Wolves and now trail the Reds by eight points.
Whilst winning the title is a possibility, doing an Arsenal by not losing a single game this season is out of the question according to Merson.
"Liverpool won't go unbeaten, not a chance," Merson told Sky Sports . "What Arsenal did all those years ago, that's some going.
"What Liverpool are doing, winning all these games on the trot, though, is ridiculous.
"They weren't great the other day. When Leicester got to 1-1, they looked like the team that might nick it, even though Liverpool didn't deserve to lose.
"For 70-odd minutes they were the better team, but they just kept on going and you have to get some breaks every now and again.
"No-one is going to look back on October 5 and remember the penalty, but that spot-kick could've been a massive, massive goal.
"When you win league titles, everybody forgets about what happens in October and November. Everybody just thinks about what happened in April or May, but the penalty could be massive in the context of the title race."
Having a team take away the 'Invincibles' crown probably wouldn't sit well with Arsenal fans so Merson's prediction about Liverpool's chances will go down well.
Manchester United become the next team to try and inflict a first league defeat on the Reds this season when the two rivals meet at Old Trafford after the international break.
