Paul Merson was outraged that Fulham were awarded a penalty in the first-half of their breathtaking match against Leeds United.
The Whites edged a seven-goal thriller at Elland Road 4-3, with Helder Costa’s brace, and one each from Mateusz Klich and Patrick Bamford being enough for the hosts.
Aleksandar Mitrovic also netted twice and Bobby Decordova-Reid’s low finish meant it was a nervy finish for Leeds - who claimed their first Premier League victory of the season.
There were two major talking points in the game, firstly with Joe Bryan going down following a challenge from Robin Koch in the penalty area.
Anthony Taylor immediately pointed to the spot, and despite consulting VAR, the spot-kick was given, which Mitrovic eventually dispatched.
Bamford won Leeds’ penalty following a push in the back from Bryan, and that put the Whites back in front following Mitrovic’s equaliser.
When speaking about Fulham’s penalty, Sky Sports pundit Merson could not believe his eyes - and even spoke about getting some new glasses because of the incident.
Merson said live on air: “Oh no, it’s not a penalty. They’re going to VAR, it won’t be a penalty.
“Bryan goes through and then he dives - he dives a week before Koch comes across. Unbelievable. He should be sent off.
“I can’t believe it’s a penalty. He’s given it. Oh my god, what am I watching? I’m definitely having these glasses changed because I didn’t think it was a penalty.
Following Klich’s penalty, Leeds then went 3-1 up via the right foot of Bamford - who scored his second goal in as many games.
It was then 4-1 as Costa finished in style for his second goal of the game, before Decordova-Reid and Mitrovic replied for the visitors.
