Arsenal legend Paul Merson has boldly claimed that even Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola would struggle in charge of the Gunners.
Arsenal are on the hunt for a new manager following the sacking of Unai Emery and sit mid-table in the Premier League, having gone seven games without a win.
That has ramped up the pressure on the club to appoint a successor to Emery, with caretaker boss Freddie Ljungberg failing to win either of his first two matches in chance.
A host of managers have been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium, including former Juventus boss Max Allegri and Tottenham's recently-axed boss Mauricio Pochettino.
However, Merson is under no illusion about the daunting task that lies ahead for whoever takes charge and has claimed that even Liverpool's Klopp and Manchester City's Guardiola would struggle at the helm.
Sticking the knife in further, he went on to state that the vacancy is 'one of the worst jobs in the game' - which serves as a warning for whoever is drafted into the club.
"I said recently that Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers would go to Arsenal because of the size of the club. But after the weekend and the game on Thursday, I’m thinking why would you go to Arsenal? Why? What can you do there?" He told Sky Sports.
"Freddie can’t be that bad but he looks like he’s never managed a team before. It looks like he’s lost. ‘He’s got the badges, he’s worked with the youngsters and he must be thinking: 'What chance have I got?' These are international players but he hasn’t got a chance.
"I think Klopp and Guardiola would struggle to come in and turn it around. It’s one of the worst jobs in the game. And then you look at Max Allegri, why would he take the job? He’s won all those leagues titles. Why would he go to Arsenal?"
