Paul Merson and Mark Lawrenson disagree on predictions for Everton's trip to Crystal Palace

Everton are looking over their shoulder heading into this latest Premier League matchday as three pundits struggle to agree on a score prediction for their showdown with in-form Crystal Palace.

Having won three straight games with Roy Hodgson at the helm, Palace have moved away from trouble as Everton remain above the drop zone only on goal difference with seven matches to play. Here is what three pundits are expecting to happen when The Toffees visit Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon (3pm);

Paul Merson - Sportskeeda

People say that Roy Hodgson's turned it around at Crystal Palace, but I think the fixtures were kind when he came in. Fair play to the players, but I have no doubt that Patrick Vieira would've also won those games.

Everton's fixtures are terrible now, and their previous match against Fulham was a must-win game. I thought they'd stay up on their home form, but last week's result was poor. I can see Everton struggling to score goals this weekend.

Crystal Palace are a proper mid-table team. They'll give the top teams a game, but won't win those matches, and they'll defeat teams below them. I expected them to win the three games they've won this month, and I think they'll win this match as well.

Score prediction: Crystal Palace 2-0 Everton

Chris Sutton - BBC Sport

The fact Everton could not put away Fulham is a massive worry. We know they will scrap away under Sean Dyche, but they need more quality if they are going to pick up the points they need to stay up.

In contrast, Crystal Palace are safe now as far as I'm concerned after their recent revival under Roy Hodgson.

It is almost three years since Palace last won four league games in a row, and they've only done it nine times in total in the top flight in the Premier League era. So, it is only the law of probability that is stopping me from backing the Eagles to take this one.

Everton are creaking - and cannot afford to lose - so I am going for a draw instead.

Score prediction: Crystal Palace 1-1 Everton

Mark Lawrenson - Paddy Power

Crystal Palace are flying and I thought that Everton would get something against Fulham when they got it back to 1-1, but it wasn't to be. I just feel this might be an Everton win. I expect it to be really, really scrappy and if you're Sean Dyche you're going to make sure those better players Crystal Palace have don't get much opportunity on the ball.

Score prediction: Crystal Palace 0-1 Everton
