Some of Ireland's top sports stars are leading the charge to hunt down the nation's biggest sports fan.
Irish sporting heroes including Paul McGrath, Padraig Harrington, Joseph O'Brien and Ciara Mageean front a team of stars drafting up a quiz to find the sports-mad fan.
GOAL are inviting fans to take part in a virtual quiz to crown Ireland's biggest sports fan, with each round drawn up by a different star.
The quiz will raise funds for GOAL’s COVID-19 response in 14 countries around the world.
Getting underway at 6:30 pm on Thursday July 9, fans can register here. Tickets will cost €10.
Former Dublin footballer Alan Brogan, rugby international Jenny Murphy, hockey international Roisin Upton, Kilkenny hurler Richie Power and boxer Andy Lee are among other sports stars to contribute with questions.
Quiz host Paul Howard said: “This quiz is an excellent opportunity for sports buffs to test their knowledge while we await the return of live sport.
"And who better to set the questions than our sporting heroes who know their sport better than most, and who have made such a huge contribution on the sporting field.
GOAL Senior Development Manager, Alan Vard, said: “GOAL has a long history of association with sport going right back to when we were founded more than 40 years ago.
"We are honoured to have so many of Ireland’s top sports figures involved in this unique quiz. Everybody is missing live sport these days, and we hope this quiz will go some way towards filling the gap for sports fans all over the country.”
