Paul McGinn to Hibs edges closer after capital club agree fee with St Mirren

Hibs have agreed a fee with St Mirren for defender Paul McGinn.

The Hibees enquired about the 29-year old last week and were met with a positive response from the Buddies.

Manager Jack Ross was confident a deal would be done ahead of the transfer deadline, and McGinn will become a Hibs player providing his medical doesn't throw up any surprises.

He is set to undergo that later this evening before putting pen to paper on a deal that will see him in green and white for the rest of this season and beyond.

Former Saint Jason Naismith will miss the rest of the season throgh injury with Ryan Porteous out for several months as well, but McGinn;s arrival will offset that to an extent.

St Mirren moved earlier today to bring Lee Hodson back to the club from Gillingham on loan, allowing McGinn to depart for Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, Florian Kamberi has told Hibs he wants to join Rangers.
