Paul Mccartney's Involvement In Beyoncé's 'Blackbird' Cover Revealed

Beyoncé

English singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and composer Paul McCartney was recently revealed to have played a significant role in Beyoncé's latest album release, Cowboy Carter. The surprise inclusion of a cover of The Beatles' iconic song 'Blackbird' on the album caught the attention of many listeners.

It was confirmed that Beyoncé not only covered 'Blackbird' but also incorporated elements from the original recording by using Paul McCartney's acoustic guitar playing and foot tapping from the decades-old track. McCartney was credited as a songwriter on Beyoncé's rendition and was also listed as one of the producers on the song, alongside Beyoncé and Khirye Tyler.

Beyoncé's version of 'Blackbird' closely resembles the original released by The Beatles in 1968 on their self-titled album, commonly known as The White Album. Despite not being released as a single, 'Blackbird' has remained a fan favorite over the years, along with other tracks from The White Album such as 'Back in the U.S.S.R.,' 'Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da,' and 'Helter Skelter.'

For her rendition of 'Blackbird,' Beyoncé collaborated with rising Black female artists Tanner Adell, Brittany Spencer, Tiera Kennedy, and Reyna Roberts, adding a new dimension to the classic song. While McCartney did not receive a featured credit on the track, his contributions to the original recording were integral to Beyoncé's updated version.

As Beyoncé's 'Blackbird' cover gains traction, it is expected to make waves on the charts, showcasing the enduring appeal of The Beatles' timeless music and the innovative reinterpretation by contemporary artists like Beyoncé.
