Sir Paul McCartney is worried his fans might never Come Together to see him on stage again.
The star is desperate to get back to playing live gigs as his new album is set for release.
But he says the Covid-19 crisis has had him contemplating the “possibility” he “might not play live again”.
Macca, 78, told the BBC: “I look back at the last gig I did in LA last year, and I’m thinking ‘Uh-oh what if that is the last?’
"It would just be great to be in a crowd and not worry and be able to go crazy and listen to a live band, or be the live band. Fingers crossed.”
Macca also revealed Oscar-winning director Peter Jackson has recut the 1970 film Let It Be, about The Beatles’ last album before they split.
He says it will downplay rows and use upbeat footage.
Sir Paul said after talking to Jackson: “My memory was it was a very sad time. But he said ‘I am looking at it. It’s a laugh. You guys making up songs.’
"He’s shown me little bits and it’s great. It reminds me, even though we had arguments, we loved each other.”
Album Macca III is out December 11.
