Paul Le Guen feared 15-goal PSG hammering as former Rangers boss fronts up to pre-season annihilation

Paul Le Guen admits Paris Saint-Germain could easily have bagged 15 goals against his Le Havre team following a bruising pre-season thumping.

The Ligue 1 champions warmed up for a friendly with Celtic with a 9-0 annihilation of the former Rangers ' boss side on Sunday.

The Parkhead side face PSG on July 21 at the Parc des Princes following clashes with Lyon and Nice during a pre-season tournament in the Groupama Stadium.

The Paris big-spenders introduced big guns Neymar and Kylian Mbappe for the second half against Le Havre and romped to a comfortable win and Le Guen admitted it could have been even worse.

He did, however, insist he did not feel humiliated by the result.

He said: "We could have lost 12 or 15 goals, but I am not embarrassed. We played with a lot of youngsters and they are not ready overnight. The score does not matter.

"PSG have Champions League games and two Finals to play so they are going to be sharp.

"I spoke to their manager Thomas Tuchel before the match and he told me they were completely ready and fit so I knew what was coming.

"They were very good and we couldn't stop them.

"PSG are champions and I believe they have the means to win the Champions League this season. They certainly have the players to do that."
