Paul Ince fears "pathetic" Edinson Cavani treatment will force Man Utd transfer exit

Manchester United legend Paul Ince has slammed the treatment of Edinson Cavani as he considers leaving the club in the summer - despite scoring seven goals this season.

The Uruguayan striker’s father admitted this week that it looked likely that he would leave Old Trafford after just one season following links with Argentine giants Boca Juniors.

“There is a 60% chance that Edinson will come to South America,” Luis Cavani told the TyC Sports network.

It has been claimed that Cavani is said to be upset with the three-match ban he received for an Instagram post in which he used “insulting and/or improper words”.

And Ince has slammed the whole debacle, insisting that United finally have a “natural goalscorer” on their hands - but understands the striker's frustrations.

“Cavani has come in an he’s been a revelation,” the ex-Red Devils star told talkSPORT 2.

“I know we talk about Fernandes coming in and being very, very good, but Cavani he’s a natural goalscorer.

“As well as Martial and Rashford can do upfront, when you talk about natural goalscorers, Cavani has showed that when he plays, the runs he makes, he knows where the space is and knows how to score.

“Whether he decides to stay or not I don’t know.

"When you look at the team against Manchester City and how they played he might be thinking ‘well, is this the way they’re going to go next year, am I going to get as many games? I’m not getting any younger’.

“I can see him going.

"All this social media stuff has not gone down well, it’s a little bit pathetic to be fair, and I can see why Cavani is a little upset about it.

“All the angles look like he will go, but hopefully he’ll leave with a few more goals in the back of the net for United.”
