Alex Hollywood categorically denied verbally abusing her ex Paul Hollywood’s new partner in a supermarket, insisting there was no “spat”.
Alex, 54, was accused of becoming embroiled in a dispute with Summer Monteys-Fullam at a Marks & Spencers in Canterbury, Kent in February.
Monteys-Fullam’s mother Sabina posted a short Instagram video after the alleged incident, claiming Alex had called her daughter a “s***” and a “w****” and that the checkout assistant had asked Summer if she was OK as Alex was “angry”.
She also accused Alex of calling the police on her the following day. Kent Police said at the time: “Enquiries were carried out in which all parties involved were given words of advice.”
Alex broke her silence on This Morning on Thursday to deny all the accusations.
“It was supposedly in Marks & Spencer’s but I can categorically say I did not say those things,” she told Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby. “There was no spat, no row. I did not call the police to Marks & Spencer’s.”
She continued: “The stories run are so far from the truth I don’t want to comment on them at all. There was no row. I did not use that language.
“I’m not angry. There have been a lot of things that have been said that have no bearing on me or my divorce to Paul and I will continue not to comment. I’m trying to get divorced I want to move on.”
She refused to comment any further for the sake of her teenage son who she shares with the Great British Bake Off judge.
“I totally get that I was married to somebody in the nicest best shows for years and I get there will be lots of media interest,” she said. “But, my son looks to me to show him hoe to get through this and I would never do or say anything to compromise his trust or embarrass him.”
She also refused to comment on whether she is in communication with Paul, telling Schofield if he wants an answer to the question he should ask Paul.
Alex and Paul tied the knot in 1998 after meeting in Cyprus. She took him back following a brief separation in 2013 after he admitted to having an affair with Marcela Valladolid, his co-star on the US version of Bake Off.
Their marriage came to an end four years later.
