Oklahoma City Thunder forward Paul George is available to play in Game 1 on Sunday against the Portland Trail Blazers, according to Brett Dawson of The Athletic.
George has been battling a pair of shoulder injuries recently and missed Wednesday’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks due to right shoulder soreness. He was initially a game-time decision for Game 1.
Thunder head coach Billy Donovan did not commit to George playing Friday afternoon after practice. George told reporters that he expected to play on Sunday.
George said on Friday that the pain was too severe to play on Wednesday so it will be worth monitoring on Sunday if he takes any hits to the injured shoulder.
The Trail Blazers are favored to win Game 1.
