Paul George will not play Saturday night on the road vs. the Spurs

Thunder forward Paul George will miss his second straight game on Saturday night against the San Antonio Spurs due to shoulder soreness, head coach Billy Donovan said.

George missed the game on Thursday against the Philadelphia 76ers due to the injury. Donovan said prior to that game that George suffered the injury against the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday night.

The absence of George against the Spurs will be the third game that he has missed the season. He previously did not play against the Phoenix Suns on Dec. 28 due to a quad contusion.

Donovan opted to start Markieff Morris in place of George on Thursday so it could be Morris that starts again against the Spurs. Morris recorded 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field in 19 minutes of work.

As George has been spectacular this season for the Thunder, the team will likely be cautious with his return in order to have George completely healthy for the playoffs.

The meeting on Saturday marks the third and final matchup of the season against the Spurs as the two teams have split the season series up until this point with each team winning at home.
