Paul George to miss third straight game Sunday night vs. Grizzlies

Thunder forward Paul George will not play Sunday night at Chesapeake Energy Arena against the Memphis Grizzlies, head coach Billy Donovan said prior to the game.

George will miss his third straight game on Sunday due to right shoulder soreness. Donovan said after the Thunder lost to San Antonio Spurs on Saturday that he was unsure if George would be available on Sunday.

With George not expected to play against the Grizzlies, the Thunder will once again start Dennis Schroder for George, similar to what the team did against the Spurs.

The Thunder have lost of each the previous two games without George as the offense has struggled in those matchups. Donovan likely wants Schroder in the starting lineup to help the team get off to a better start, something they have struggled with since returning from the All-Star break.

Although the Thunder will not have George available, the team is favored by 10 points against the Grizzlies. The Thunder may have wanted to rest George for another game against a team they should have no problem beating.

The game is set to tip off at 6 p.m. CT and can be seen on NBA TV.
