Paul George’s time with the Oklahoma City Thunder came to an abrupt end with the announcement of his trade to the Los Angeles Clippers early Saturday morning. He wants to play with Kawhi Leonard in their home state, thus leaving the Thunder in a position to make a major decision. They can either be a middling team in the Western Conference and try to compete for a postseason berth or commit to a full-fledged rebuild — with the latter seeming much more likely in the early stages.
George, on the other hand, is going to a contender in the Clippers, instantly turning them into one by partnering up with the 2019 Finals MVP in Leonard.
