Paul George says Westbrook is ‘lucky’ to be on his All-Star team

After the 2019 NBA All-Star Draft aired Thursday night on TNT, the two rosters for the game are set as LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo selected their squads.

Paul George and Russell Westbrook were initially on separate teams but James and Antetokounmpo agreed to a Westbrook for Ben Simmons trade, teaming Westbrook up with George on Team Giannis.

While Thunder fans will certainly enjoy watching George and Westbrook on the same team, it may have been a little exciting to see the two as opponents during the game, something George wanted to happen.

“I told him I was going to lock his [expletive] up,” George said, via Erik Horne of The Oklahoman. “He’s lucky he’s on my side.”

The All-Star Draft Thursday night was certainly entertaining for fans to watch and was filled with plenty of laughable moments between James and Antetokounmpo.

After initially drafting Westbrook, James eventually decided to trade him to Team Giannis for the sole purpose of teaming him up with Joel Embiid since the two are not necessarily the best of friends.

It would have been fun to see the two Thunder players guard each other but now the exciting moment during the game may come between Westbrook and Embiid.

The All-Star Game is Feb. 17 at 8 p.m. ET.
