Paul George says he’ll ‘be ready Saturday’ to face James Harden

With a big matchup looming for the Thunder Saturday night against the Houston Rockets, Paul George appears to be ready for the task of guarding James Harden.

The two teams will meet for the third time of the season Saturday after splitting the previous two matchups as the Rockets defeated the Thunder most recently on Christmas Day.

Harden recorded 41 points in the last contest as he led the Rockets to the 113-109 win but the MVP candidate shot just 15-of-35 from the field, including 5-of-16 from 3-point range.

Meanwhile, George led Oklahoma City with 28 points in that matchup but George is currently playing at a higher level than he was in December so Saturday night could be quite a display between the two players.

In any case, George will be ready for the challenge.

“I’m looking forward to the matchup, as I’m sure he is as well,” George said, via Travis Singleton on YouTube. “It’s always fun going against James. I won’t get into no details, I’ll be ready Saturday, though.”

The Thunder have been one of the hottest teams in the NBA recently after winning nine out of their last 10 games while the Rockets have won three straight as Harden has scored at least 30 in 28 straight games.

As the country will be watching the NBA Saturday Primetime on ABC matchup, the Thunder have an opportunity to solidify their place among the best but will enter the game as two-point underdogs.

Oklahoma City is 8-4 against the spread as an underdog, per OddsShark.
