Paul George jokes that his MVP chants ‘come at a good time’ in games

Thunder forward Paul George said on Monday that he relies on his teammates to keep him motivated during games. He also leans on the support of the fans, too.

As George navigates through the best season of his career, he has been showered with MVP chants plenty of times in Oklahoma City — even in Orlando, too.

The MVP candidate appreciates the timing of those chants.

I think [the MVP chants] come at a good time when the games are kind of close and I lean on [the fans] for that extra push and that motivation to keep going. Outside of that, it’s appreciated. Try to lock in and do what’s best for this team and try to win those games.

The second-year Thunder player has typically shied away from discussing his place in the MVP conversation but George has typically approved of the MVP chants he has received.

While many around the NBA believe George is among the three players in the MVP race now, the latest odds from BetDSI do not favor George all that much — he has the seventh-highest odds.

The odds may not favor George, at least according to BetDSI, the ninth-year veteran is the favorite in the hearts of Thunder Nation and that may be all that matters to George.
