Paul George believes Nikola Jokic has the best nickname in the NBA

Given the wealth of talent in the NBA right now, quite a few candidates could vie for the best nickname in the league. But Paul George has an answer for the question.

Of course, LeBron James is the “King,” while Giannis Antetokounmpo is “The Greek Freak.” And even George’s teammate, Russell Westbrook, has a pretty good nickname in “The Brodie” (as he is known to some around the league).

George has a few of his own as well: “PG-13,” “Young Trece” and “Playoff P.”

But, for “PG-13,” Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic has the best of the bunch.

Man, I think the Joker [Nikola Jokic], man. The Joker is a dope name. I think Jokic got the best nickname right now. He got tricks, man. It goes with his name. I think it fits him perfect, Jokic, the Joker. He got tricks, man. He keeps you on your toes, and he puts on a show every time he’s out there.

Basketball-Reference does a great job of keeping track of the various nicknames around the league on each player’s profile, as each guy in the NBA seemingly has a few, including some pretty random ones, like “Count Blockula” for Hassan Whiteside.

A few years ago the NBA allowed players to don jerseys with their nicknames and, given the influx of pseudonyms, the league should look at doing it again because who wouldn’t want to see “The Brodie” on Westbrook’s jersey?
