Paul Gascoigne's ultimate Rangers training pranks revealed as Marco Negri recalls bizarre biscuit incident

Rangers legend Paul Gascoigne would urinate on team-mates during training and store biscuits in his underwear, reveals Marco Negri.

The English midfielder was one of the best talents of his generation but is just as well known for his bizarre antics as for his football talent.

Gazza joined Rangers from Lazio in 1995 and helped Walter Smith's side to two league titles, becoming an Ibrox hero in the process.

For players not used to his antics though the Englishman's ways could be a bit daunting, as Negri explained.

The former striker said on the Italian Football Podcast : “He was a genius, a special one. I consider myself so lucky to have played with him.

"Only once every 50 years you find someone like him. After Johan Cruyff, the most incredible midfielder ever.

"He could attack defenders, score goals, free kicks, dribble.

"Training with him was nice as he would do some strange things. During stretching, he would p*** on the legs of team-mates!

“I had a great relationship with Gazza on and off the pitch. He was an amazing friend with a big, big heart. He’s got his demons but I hope that now he can figure out and live a normal life.

“I remember the first time we went to a hotel before a game. It was 7.30 and it was dinner time. In Italy, we are very polite and punctual, you have to dress in the same way and pay if you are late.

“Gazza was outside the elevator, just wearing underwear and white shirt with no socks or flip flops. He just grabbed some biscuits and put them in his underwear and shouted: ‘I’ll see you tomorrow!'.

“I thought, ‘okay, he’s different!’ But the next day at the match he was amazing, he gave so many great passes to me!”

Negri scored an incredible 23 goals in his first 10 games for Rangers, but an eye injury saw his Ibrox career fizzle out.

Now back home in Italy, the former striker still keeps a keen eye on his former club and has been impressed with Alfredo Morelos.

He revealed: "Two seasons ago I was part of the coaching staff at Udinese and I told the board about Morelos.

"I think he's got a bright future ahead. He's prolific and a great attacking player. Now I'm not at Udinese anymore so I'm happy that he's still at Rangers."
