Paul Gascoigne's son 'so grateful' for dad's reaction to him coming out as bi

Paul Gascoigne's son Regan is "so grateful" for his dad's reaction to his coming out as bisexual.

Professional dancer Regan Gascoigne, 25, came out publicly as bi two years ago during an interview on Lorraine and told his father the night before the big day.

Now according to The Sun, Regan has told Italian TV about the Paul's reaction to his sexuality.

Of the time when he came out, Regan said he was "so grateful" for his father's positive reaction.

Regan said: "We have such a good relationship. There have been ups and downs, but that is all water under the bridge. It's love, love, love now."

He adds that he enjoys spending time with his "funny" father.

"By accepting my bisexuality, my dad put me at ease," he added.

The remarks fit well with the supportive tone that Paul displayed last summer when he spoke to The Mirror.

Paul told us last August: "He texted me the night before and I saw him on the TV talking about it.

"I told him: ‘It doesn't matter what you do son, I will support you 100 percent, you have to do what makes you happy’."

He added that he realised the difficulty of coming out so publicly.

"I thought ‘bless him’. To go on TV and do that is hard," noted Paul.

"He is a professional dancer, he is a fit guy, and I am very proud of him."

Regan is the son of Paul from his marriage to British television personality and author Sheryl Failes, who he was married to from 1996 to 1998.
