Paul Gascoigne's nephew set for Rangers trial as Ibrox side run rule over striker Cameron

Rangers will run the rule over Paul Gascoigne’s nephew Cameron at Auchenhowie this week.

Ibrox legend Gazza met Steven Gerrard at The Hummel Training Centre and the England icon’s young relative will also visit Glasgow in the next few days as Rangers assess him. The former Newcastle academy striker, 18, has been invited to train at the club where his uncle retains hero status.

MailSport understands the highly-regarded teen’s prolific scoring feats at youth level have also 
caught the eye of several English sides.

Meanwhile, Beaming Gerrard has paid tribute to Gascoigne after the Rangers legend visited to his former side.

The Ibrox boss shared a snap of the pair at the Hummel Training Centre ahead of Sunday's clash with Hamilton.

Rangers also uploaded a video of the maverick former England international posing Gerrard and the pair shared a joke as they embraced.

Gazza said: "How you doing pal?"

Gerrard: "Get your kit on, get your boots on."

Gazza: "I might do, but my hip is still in Newcastle."

Gerrard: "Are you alright?"

Gazza: "Yeah I'm brilliant man."

Gascoigne was adored in Govan for his thrilling displays during a storied three-year stay during the nine-in-a-row era.
