  • Paul Gascoigne , the former England footballer, has stated he is "the happiest" he has been in five years , despite his decades-long struggles with alcoholism and depression.
  • During an emotional interview on Good Morning Britain , Gascoigne attributed his improved well-being to general life changes, including the weather, fly-fishing, and upcoming book deals, noting that "things are looking up" for him.
  • His latest autobiography, Eight , which was released in October last year, details his career and addiction battles, with Gascoigne becoming tearful as he spoke about readers telling him the book has saved their lives.
  • The 59-year-old, who previously battled an addiction to Red Bull, consuming up to 30 cans daily, now manages his recovery by focusing on taking each day as it comes, avoiding planning weeks ahead.
