Paul Gascoigne breaks down on Good Morning Britain while discussing spending £20k on anti-alcohol pellets

Paul Gascoigne broke down in tears on Good Morning Britain this morning as he discussed how support from the public has helped him through difficult times.

Appearing on the ITV morning show, the legendary footballer spoke to Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid about his struggle with alcoholism and spending £20,000 on anti-alcohol pellets.

Gascoigne, 52, travelled to Australia back in 2018 to have an operation that involved inserting pellets into his stomach that make you feel sick if you consume too much alcohol, the Mirror Online reports.

After admitting that he had a relapse at Christmas, he said: "I'm no angel but I'm an honest guy."

Gazza began to get emotional when he spoke about how the public had helped him through his toughest times.

"I accept some of the bad stuff I did," he said. "When I feel bad I go down to the high street."
