Paul di Resta signs up for Peugeot for the World Endurance Championship

PAUL di Resta has signed up to drive the all-new Peugeot Hypercar at Le Mans and in the FIA World Endurance Championship.

The West Lothian driver, right, is part of a star-studded team of seven drivers chosen for their experience, speed and consistency in long-distance racing.

Paul said: “Peugeot has a great history at Le Mans. Joining the team at such an early stage really excites me as I fell in love with endurance racing when I started in the LMP2 class.

“Le Mans is the best race in the world as it pushes the whole team to the maximum. I cannot wait to share the experience.”

The FIA WEC season is set to start on March 19 with the 1000 Miles of Sebring race in the US.

This weekend sees the start of the Asian Le Mans Series, with Scots Colin Noble and Tony Wells back in the hot seat of their Nielsen Racing Ligier JS P320-Nissan.

The pair will be looking to repeat their 2020 title-winning form in the Asian series, which is being run over two consecutive weekends in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Colin said: “The track in Dubai is new to us, so we have a lot to learn. We know the car is very strong, and Tony is better than ever behind the wheel. This means we are in a strong position to win.”

Also competing in the Asian Le Mans Series is Aberdeen driver Ian Loggie. He will be sharing an identical car to Colin and Tony in the LMP3 class.
